This is a rare and wonderful find in astonishing condition. The luster is shiny and the pattern is overall intact. There are 2 elephants, one on each side of the scalloped bowl and the scalloped lid handle has talon feet. There are no cracks or crazing but the lid does have a 1/4 inch chip on the inner rim, see photos.
Elephants represented wisdom, strength, protectors, bringers of fotune and longevity in the Victorian Era.
Based on the Royal Worcester maker's mark, this was made in 1887.
